GCSS Now on Twitter!
2:32 PM | Author: GCSS Webmaster
As of today, GCSS now has a Twitter account! It's likely that most of you have at least heard the name "Twitter" before, but here's a quick summary for those who have been left in the dark:

Twitter, like Facebook, Myspace, and other social networking sites, allows users to build a network of friends and/or business contacts using brief announcements called "tweets." Tweets can be up to 160 characters long, and no more; thus, the idea is referred to as "micro-blogging."

Being that Evan and the rest of the Community Events team have been working towards giving GCSS more of an Internet presence, Twitter seems one of the ideal sites through which to do so.

However, in order to make sure that our announcements are heard, we're required to build a network (as we clearly would through any other medium). If any other GCSS employees have a Twitter account, we would love for you to add GCSSCommunity as a friend, and keep up with all the latest news. And please, invite any friends that you think would be interested to follow our tweets!

We look forward to hearing your feedback, and welcome any suggestions.

Give Back Alliance & Success Stories

It's been a little bit, but we have some new updates for everyone!

We have just added two pages to the website. The first is the Give Back Alliance page. If you have been keeping up with this blog, then you would know that the Give Back Alliance "gives back" money in the form of groceries of gas cards based an $50 donations to GCSS. Please visit the page to find out the details on the program.

Our second page is the Success Stories page. Here, you can read about some of our many consumers and how our services have helped them to grow and thrive. However, we love achieving and hearing about new success stories, so please, tell us your story!
Cash Back for Your Donation
10:52 AM | Author: GCSS Webmaster
No, this is not a new Ponzi scheme or a bait and switch – this program is simply a way for you, the consumer, to support a worthy cause and be “rewarded” for your philanthropy. Here is how The Give Back Alliance works:
  1. You donate $50 to Georgia Community Support and Solutions through our Facebook Cause or directly on our website at www.gacommunity.org . (Be sure to fill out all the contact information to receive your cash back certificates.)
  2. Indicate in the comment section this is part of The Give Back Alliance program.
  3. In approximately two to six weeks, you will receive a packet of information on how to register your certificate.
  4. Spend $100 on groceries or gas (who doesn’t do that??), mail in your receipts and receive $25 back. Repeat for six months – then donate another $50 and the process starts again.
  5. You have to choose gas or groceries per $50 donation (donate $100 and you can do both!!). Additionally, your receipts for the $100 in purchases must be from the same store (Target, Exxon, Publix, etc).
  6. If where you shop is not a partner with The Give Back Alliance, you will receive a $25 Visa Gift card.
  7. Tell your friends and family – EVERYONE WINS

SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND DONATE TODAY.
General Updates

Greetings everyone!

We have upgraded some of the forms that are found on the website. These improved forms will allow us to better gather data from you and ensure we're getting accurate information to better meet your needs.

Also, we have migrated our feeds under our Google account. This should not affect those currently signed up to our feeds, but if you find yourself missing new posts, please re-subscribe to our feeds. We have tried to make subscription easy and flexible to accommodate all delivery methods--e-mail, feed aggregators, etc.

We have actually re-structured the website. Most of it will look and function the same. The largest change is that you can get to our policies and sitemap from any page in the website. These links are located at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for keeping up to date with everything GCSS!
